We start off by looking at the Classico, a game that Benfica should have won but squandered the opportunity to put porto away in the title race. We discuss Benfica’s lack of effectiveness, which had been paramount in the 13 game win streak. We talk about Jonas’ inability to show up in the important games for Benfica, and how Gaitan and Pizzi were also ineffective. In the second half of the pod, we breakdown Benfica’s UCL game against Zenit. A game that Benfica dominated, and won in the dying minutes of the second half, against a Zenit team who came to Lisbon from their mid season break, looking to not lose any points.
