Episode 348 - One shot to rule them all

On this week's podcast.... We catch you up with a brief recap of the  League Cup and Portuguese Cup games that took place before the end of  the year. We then look back at the difficult game in Guimaraes against  Vitoria, where Benfica was able to come away with the 3 points, despite  not being the best team on the field. Nonetheless the first half goal by  Cervi and a solid defensive effort in the second half was enough to  prolong our 16 game winning streal away from Estadio da Luz. In the  second half of the podcast we discuss Julien Weigl's signing and  transfer rumors that included RDT's possible permanent exit to Spain.  Lastly we look ahead to the month of January and Benfica's next Liga Nos  game against Aves.

Episode 346 - Too much, too late

On this week's podcast... We look back at the game against Boavista at the Bessa, where Benfica rode the away support wave to get the three points. We then discussed Benfica's last game of the UCL group stages, where Benfica stamped their entry into the Europa League.  We discuss the change in approach by Lage in Europe, and ponder what could have been had this approach been used from the start. Lastly we look ahead to Benfica's home match against this years cinderella team of the Liga Nos, Famalicao.

Episode 345 - Mountains and Valleys

On this week's podcast... We look back at the Leipzig, Maritimo, and Covilha games. throughout these 3 games Benfica hit peaks and valleys, the disappointing collapse in Germany after being 2-0 into the 90th minute, the trashing of Maritimo at the new pitch at the Luz, and the poor result against second division Covilha for the League Cup. We look at Lage's choices, and decisions, the affirmation of Vinicius as the #1 choice at forward, and Benfica's lack of competence to dispatch a second division team. In the second half of the podcast we look ahead to Benfica's visit to the Bessa, and UCL matchday 6 where Benfica will hope to get into the Europa League as a consolation prize for the miserable UCL campaign.

Episode 343 - Honey, we're Pregnant!

On this week's episode... We look back at Benfica's game in the Azores,  against Santa Clara, discuss the struggles this team has had outside of  Estadio da Luz, ponder what this team's identity is, and how the news of  Mrs Lage's expectancy galvanized the team at half time against Santa  Clara. We also discus the possible incursion by Benfica into the winter  market, talk about the rumors surrounding Yonny Gonzales, and players  who are free that could be a good fit.  We will pause for international  break, and will be back in 2 weeks.
