Born in Alcochete, Portugal, arrived in the U.S. at the age of 15.  I’ve been a Benfiquista for as long as I can remember. Before I came to the States I used to go to the old Estadio da Luz with my father, those were my first memories of watching Benfica live. Most memorable live game was Benfica’s 92/93 Portuguese Cup Final 5-2 victory over Boavista, in a game that featured the likes of Futre, Rui Costa, Paulo Sousa and other Benfica legends. Other memories, Preud’homme’s pre season debut at the old stadium, meeting and having an intimate lunch with the King in Newark, attending a game in middle of the No Name Boys. Benfica is one of the most important things in my life, and never miss a chance to watch the team live when distance permits.
