We open up the podcast in a quite somber note after finding out Benfica has sold Bernardo Silva. After getting off some frustration and anger off our chests, we look back at Benfica’s League Cup game against Arouca. Continuing with the game recaps, we run through Benfica’s Madeira trip and recap a game who we thought was going to be a lot harder than a 4-0 banging.
Lastly, we look ahead to this weekend’s fixture against P Ferreira as well and the mid-week game against Moreirense for the League Cup.

According to my calculations Benfica has cashed in a gross total of €174+ since the January 2013 transfer window. Matic 25, Rodrigo 30, Andre Gomes 15, Garay 6, Oblak 16, Markovic 25, Derlis Gonzalez 4.5, Cardozo 5, Kardec 4.5, Mitrovic 1.8, Enzo 25, Bernardo Silva 15.75. That’s gotta be some kinda of record yet Benfica continues to sell off its best players. I guess in Bernardo’s case there wasn’t much to do since Monaco cleared the buy out clause.

Hi Roberto, I wasnt aware that Bernardo’s clause was that little. I thought it was up in the 30s. But yes that must be some kind of a record.

€15.75 apparently was the amount agreed upon with Monaco after the loan ran out, but i’m sure his original buyout clause was much higher.
